Why Big Sister/Brother Program

The initiative was spearheaded by the Glory Ifezue Foundation in response to the growing need for a more holistic approach to education. We recognized that many young people in Nigeria lack access to resources and guidance that can help them thrive in various aspects of life. The Big Sister/Brother School Programs were created to fill this gap, providing a platform where students can gain valuable insights and skills that will help them navigate their academic and personal lives more effectively.

The goals of this initiative are multifaceted. First, we aim to inspire a love for continuous learning and personal development among students. By exposing them to various fields and skills, we hope to ignite their passion for growth and self-improvement. Second, we strive to provide practical support and guidance, helping students to manage their time effectively, prioritize their tasks, and use technology to enhance their education. Third, we focus on fostering a sense of security and well-being, ensuring that students are aware of safety measures and health practices that can protect them. Fourth, to expose students to early mentorship, by providing positive role models and mentors who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement throughout a student’s academic journey.
